Bad luck on losing your female - hope the eggs work out though, the only thing i do know about these eggs is that should not be rotated - its important/vital to keep them the same way up all the time.

I tried my best and did the sharpie thing but it was really hard to keep them in the same position as they were in her when I was ... er ... 'excavating' them! hopefully they'll be ok I'll check on the eggs when i have to move them to vermiculite when it arrives in the post this week, but hopefully they'll be ok. What am i looking for in healthy eggs? nice and white with no discolouration?

mine nearly made it Etonks. harvesting is definitely something that should be tried if you think egg binding has occurred. if your eggs are white, then it sounds promising. just make sure you don't rotate them now from the position you have put them in. good luck

only just noticed you asked about how they should look. White is good! if they looked like they were not fully formed, e.g.: yellow like you could see the egg contents then they don't tend to survive, but white is excellent! don't worry over the next few days whilst you have them in soil as they may turn speckly. this is quite common if they are incubated in soil. you will know if they go bad. they will turn dark and probably sink. keep them in a wardrobe or somewhere like that doesnt get too extreme temperature wise and just keep checking on them week by week.

The best way to make sure the eggs don't get rotated it to put a small cross on the top. You can do this with a fine perm pen and that is what I do with my Crested Gecko eggs.

They've been spotted with sharpie and are looking ok atm I'll put photos up tomorrow so you can see and assess them for me! They're in a plastic box in soil in my pygmy tank but is in a wardrobe or draw better you think? I thought they'd do better simulating natural conditions in the tank? Ahhhh it'll be amazing to maybe have babies in January if they're ok! Oh also, what temps do you recommend having the eggs at?
