    Default Sticky eyes

    hi,

this is the first time I've posted on here so hello!

I have two pygmies and am looking forward to swapping piccies and info on
    them with other pygmy owners.

right now tho I have a problem with Ernie (yes the other one is called Eric!).
I'm a bit concerned because one of his eyes is not opening. I'm wondering if
he's got a chameleon version of conjunctivitis. The eye is moving around in
it's socket and both eye turrets are protruding normally, not sunken. It's just
the lids of his right eye look stuck together.

has anyone seen this before and if so what should I do?
I've only noticed it today. I'd be really grateful of any kind advice.

actually another thing which I noticed this evening is that there is a clear patch
of glass on the base of the tank where it looks like he's been digging. I have
about an inch of moss in there and he'd got bits of it stuck to him when I retrieved
him from the tank. Could he be a she and be trying to lay eggs? I can't see any tho.

    thanks loads,
    Mel

    hi melcham, welcome to www.pygmychameleon.co.uk

have you tryed to clean the eye ?

try using a cotton bud with some warmish water (more cold than hot )

once its cleaned up, check to see if it comes back, it may just be something in the eye that needs clearing.
