Default MY 1st baby has arrived!

YIPPEEEEEEEEEE I am proud to announce I had my first baby cham hatch today

I was misting the tank earlier & spotted a strange looking leaf that suddenly moved & looked back at me

I have had a bad couple of weeks with my pygmies and have lost several adults so this is a most welcome change indeed.......now just got to hope he/she survives & has siblings or other babies to live with soon. I have seen gravid females in all 4 of my exos, but as yet am unable to find any eggs......and 2 of the females that recently died both had 1 egg still unlaid = I did a PM on them

He is in with the parents (could not find the eggs to move them), so do you all recommend moving him out now or tomorrow when a little stronger? Are the parents cannibalistic at all? He is about half an inch long in size = cant you tell I am now the stressed out new parent

Anyway, here is the new arrival

    CUTE!~

you will want him removed from the parents enclosure pretty soon. CB should never be housed with WC ( if that is what your adults are ), for health reasons..

    congrats!
everybody dies. don't be surprised that people die, be surprised that you are still alive.

Congrats!! They are so cute aren't they? Yes get him out for reasons as gretchenellie said, also easier to monitor eating/pooing etc. Parents don't seem to mind the babies at all - one of them I found sitting on branch next to his daddy, they looked quite happy (not to meantion really sweet!)
I tend to move them staight away, although the first three stayedi n overnight as I wasn't expecting them and had to do an emergency shopping trip the next day!

Sorry to hear about your adults though hopefully this is the start of better things for you.

Baby is now in his/her own Exo, but poor wee thing looks lost being so tiny he or she did psend last night with Mum & step Dad and Mum was close by keeping an eye on things I have seen hunting stances & even drinking activity this morning, so fingers crossed baby grows & develops quickly.

I guess one of the postives from loosing some adults is the fact I had spare Exos all ready for new occupants

Lets hope more tinty tots appear soon as I know there were 2 gravid females in that tank, so hopefully more eggs cooking nicely
