    Default Violent male

Hey guys, so after keeping my 2 new females Brevs isolated from my male for 3 months I finally put them in together a few days ago. Tonight we made the decision to separate the females back into their separate viv as Claudes advances seemed to be getting a little much... One female in particular was not looking well, with her skin all patchy from where he had been biting her. She was down at the bottom of the viv not moving and he was still trying it on. So my question is, is this normal? Do i put the ladies back into the viv with Claude or leave them separated?

    hi, Gray!

it is normal for pygmy's that have not been formerly kept together to be a little hostile towards each other when they finally come into contact..

are their cages at a spot where they could be placed next to one another? i would keep them this way for a week or so and then introduce one female at a time, preferably the more dominant female... the male will have a chance to view the females through the glass without harming them this way.

i have one male that i have to keep alone, because he will continuously go around and bite his tank mates in the back legs, stressing them out terribly.

introduce them again in a little while. he will calm down.. you might try introducing him into the girls setup where he has not established any territory.

    good luck!
everybody dies. don't be surprised that people die, be surprised that you are still alive.

Thanks for the advice, the vivs are placed next to eachother, but both have black paper around the glass - perhaps I will remove the paper from one side so they can see eachother. Then i'll see how it goes in a week introducing just one. I'll keep you all informed!
