    Default Life Span

Hello Fellow pygmy lovers of the globe......... Can anyone answer this (what may seem a stupid ) question....
I was in a reptile shop buying my box of crickets and i got talking to the owner.
I told him i had pitted pygmy chams etc.. he told me they only live for eight to twelve months once they reach adult!!!!!!!! is this true???

I have also wondered what kind of life span they are ment to have because i have read a few conflicting things, one been that in captivity they can live between 7 and 8 years and the other been that the average life span is 2 - 3 years. so i have absolutly no idea what to believe! Im just going to look after mine as well as poss and see what happens!

    Interesting topic.

i have been told and also read that the lifespan varies from Usually 2-7 years., i would imagine that this would depend on many things :

    the species

    quality of care/health

and like most animals, reptiles, living things the pygmy itself.

it's one reason I've kept a trio of my babies - know exactly when they were born as can see exactly how long they live!

while i have never kept any of my offspring long enough to see what the true captive life span is, i do have a WC female that i have had for nearly 2.5 years now. i estimated her to be about 1 year or so when i first got her.

    she is an R. Brev.

i also have a CB by me male brev, Jack, that is getting close to 2 years now. he is one of very few hold backs that i have kept for breeding purposes...
everybody dies. don't be surprised that people die, be surprised that you are still alive.
