Default female brev short appetite-- gravid?

hey guys, this is my first post, nice looking forum you got her! i'm maybe a couple days over owning pygmies for the first time. My girlfriend and I bought 4 brevs wild caught and are doing great! we have split them up 2, 2 and of course she got the 1.1 ratio lol. to my understanding, females mate quite a bit, and also retain sperm perhaps? either way, my larger girl changes patterns quite a bit, right now she is dark brown with a black stripe and pattern. she has only averaged maybe 1 or 2 crickets the last couple feedings. while my smaller girl eats all 4. i feed every other day as i dont want them producing infertile eggs at any point.

my question is.. how can you tell a female is gravid?

    Default

    they usually look very tubby!
1 or 2 eggs is good to be honest, I usually put in 2/3 crickets each into my set-up and let them hunt them, Pygmy are usually good and only eat if they are hungry.

I don want to alarm you but has the female gotten sunken eyes at all? My female that was gravid stopped eating and her eyes looked sunken as she must not have liked the soil we had in to lay her eggs. unfortunately my female died eggbound, and sunken eyes may be an indicator that there is a problem with retained eggs.

here is a pic of my female that was gravid

If she is still eating and drinking and the eyes dont look sunken then I wouldnt worry about it at the minute, some gravid females, especially the larger chams stop eating altogether if they are gravid and ready to lay.
