    Default Heating

    Hi,
This is my first post here. I have what I believe to be a pair of Bearded Pygmies. I have them in a Faunarium at the moment. This is temporary until I have sold my last baby Rankins Dragon (still available!!!), and they are both going into that vivarium. What I want to know is how I should heat them. The viv is on top of another one which houses my Ackies, so has a fairly warm patch at the top where the other viv is sitting.

Am I right in thinking that Beardeds dont like a lot of heat? Is 75 about the limit? If this is the case, could I just use a normal househole bulb to get the required tempeature with a dimmer stat?

Im intending on planting it up, so the substrate will be absorb the heat fro them viv below.#

Any ideas, questions. coments welcome. Thanks, Ben

Mid to low 70's is the idea temp. I like to shoot for 72. I have used household bulbs to achieve temps for my enclosures. Sometimes you find after you add all the lighting you want for the enclosure that you are already at the right temp. Keep more than one temp probe in the enclosure, bottom and top.
Look at enclosures in the knowledge base for more info on appropriate substrate layering.
