Well, found this the weekend.

Bought some slate paving slabs about 1 year ago to do stepping stone type thing through the grass in the back garden to save me laying a whole path!!

I had 3 left over and thought that it would look very nice on the bottom of my Yemens viv, so I started to split them to double my number. (300mmx300mmx25mm slabs into 300x300x12.5mm slabs)

On splitting the second slab, found this fossilised plant inside. Don't know what it is or how old (any geologists out there???) but still excited my 8 yr old boy.

Best part of it all was we have two identical !!!(as it split down the middle)

Here's the pic:IMG00111-20110425-1851.jpg

Sorry for the quality of the image, it was done with the old blackberry (crap phone!)

Anyone else found anything interesting lately?

Jokes about football teams and back of the net ARE obligatory!

Regards

Austin
